Questions and Answers
Q. My baby is 10 months old, is it too late to sleep train?

A. No, it is never too late to build healthy sleep habits. The sooner you start, the happier your baby will be when they are getting the sleep they truly need!! And the happier you (the parents) will be when you’re getting full nights of sleep.

Q. How soon can we start Sleep Training?

A. Every baby is different and it is never too early to start building healthy sleeping habits. This is for babies that were full term, and no health problems. From personal experience I believe that a singleton needs to be at least 8 weeks old, for twins they should be at least 10 weeks old. There are also other factors involved in this process that we can discuss.

Q. Why would I benefit from the additional overnights?

A. When sleep training a lot of parents have a difficult time dealing with the sleep training and prefer to have a night nurse there. So that is why I will come help you through the sleep training process between the hours of 7 PM and 7 AM.

Q. Who is going to benefit most from Sleep Training?

A. Well first of all the overly exhausted parents! But the baby will benefit from this also as the baby will be sleeping much better, making for a much happier healthy baby.

Q. What is done at the In Home Consultation?

A. I will come to your home; meet with your baby, Mom & Dad and anyone else who deals with the night time routines (nanny, babysitter, and grandparents). In addition it is important for me to see your baby’s sleeping environment. We discuss everything from your baby’s eating habits, naps and daytime activities, to any developmental or feeding issues.

Q. How long will it take for my child to sleep well?

A. That depends a lot on how well you are following your plan! Most children are able to sleep well in 2-4 nights. For naps it could be as little as 5 days but on occasion it takes a little bit longer. With toddlers or babies that are used to being rocked or held while they sleep, healthy sleep habits can take 7 to 10 days.
